ssjs.guide is a free, open-source reference site. This page explains what data is collected, which cookies are used, and how you stay in control.

Who runs this site

ssjs.guide is a personal, non-commercial project by Jörn Berkefeld. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Salesforce. Contact: joernberkefeld.com.

Hosting

The site is served as static files via GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). Like any web host, GitHub processes your IP address and request metadata to deliver pages and to protect the service. See the GitHub Privacy Statement for details.

Cookies

The consent tool that shows the cookie banner is self-hosted on this domain — it loads no third-party scripts and sets no tracking cookies of its own.

Cookie Category Purpose Retention
cc_cookie Strictly necessary Remembers your cookie choice so the banner is not shown again. 182 days
_ga, _ga_* Analytics (opt-in) Google Analytics — distinguishes visitors. Set only if you accept analytics. up to 2 years
_gid Analytics (opt-in) Google Analytics — distinguishes visitors. Set only if you accept analytics. 24 hours

Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot remember your preference without them. All other cookies require your explicit consent.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) to understand which pages are useful, so the reference can be improved. Analytics is disabled by default and is only activated after you click Accept in the cookie banner. This is implemented with Google Consent Mode v2: until you consent, analytics_storage is set to denied, so no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected.

If you accept, Google Analytics collects aggregated, pseudonymised usage statistics such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from IP, which Google truncates), device type, and referring site. No advertising or personalisation signals are enabled. Data may be processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

You can change your choice at any time using the Manage cookies link in the site footer. Declining — or withdrawing — consent stops further analytics collection and clears the analytics cookies. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because this site only processes data through the third parties named above, exercise these rights with the relevant provider (Google, GitHub) or contact me at the email above and I will help where I can.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site evolves. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
